IRAQ: U.S. troops to be congratulated

I would to congratulate our soldiers on the success of the Bush/Cheney surge in Iraq and their victory in the U.S./Iraq war. As the last American combat brigade leaves Iraq, it is now a war for the Iraqis to fight, with the remaining American troops to be in a non-combat role.

I call on Sen. Patty Murray and Rep. Adam Smith to join me in acknowledging the success of the surge and the apparent American victory. If they will not do this, I have to ask: If this was not a victory, why are our combat troops leaving Iraq? Is the U.S. surrendering? Is the U.S. abandoning our ally with the job not done? If this is how our elected leaders feel, then they should say so.

As we mourn the 4,400 troops who gave their lives, we need to recognize the great achievements that were made by them and our other troops who served in Iraq. Thank you.

Our men & women have performed superbly and should be proud of a difficult victrory! The Bush/Cheney surge was the key element that brought victory in a timely manner.

  2. The Bush/Cheney surge would have never been needed, had the Bush/Cheney war been conducted competently from the beginning.

And 3PH, are you joking? Victory in a timely manner? The Bush/Cheney prediction: A war of six months or less.

And so now we are leaving Iraq, after a trillion and a half borrowed from China to conduct it, and with hundreds of thousands of Iraqi’s killed, 4400 American soldiers dead and many more thousands injured. Iraqi treasures have been looted, their history lost, and their intrastructure remains destroyed.

And now, many Iraqi’s are filled with hate towards America for the needless damage the Bush/Cheney war has caused because of the incompetent manner in which it was conducted.

Ah, success! How sweet the victory!

William, I heard V.P. (foot in mouth) Biden taking credit for the successful turnover of the Army and Police to Himself and President Obama, this is laughable and sad.

Reid said a year ago the War in Iraq is lost bring the troops home “while our troops were fighting in Iraq”.

Obama said Iraq is lost and we are fighting the wrong war. We should be fighting in Afg..

Now as the Iraq War is finally coming to an end for our troops, Obama and Biden are quick to take credit for any successes made by our Generals and our troops and President Bush.

Are you congratulating the troops or making a political statement that no criticism of a war is allowed (especially by democrats) once soldiers have died? This is a good example of wrapping oneself in the flag and howling at any criticism.
