Norm Dicks is a dynamic, caring person who has placed the needs and concerns of the 6th District at the top of his list for the past 33 years. Rep. Dicks is Vice Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, and Vice Chairman of the Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee. His Committee assignments have given him many opportunities to do special things for his District and his Country,

Norm successfully fought to get the Air Force to reopen the bidding for the $50 billion air refueling tanker program, and now Boeing has a fair shot at winning the contract which will create thousands of good jobs in Washington State.

His interest in defense is matched by his avid concern for foreign policy and international trade. He has made many trips to other parts of the world to learn and observe, and to find ways to bring his expertise to bear in meaningful activities in this District and our State.

Norm has been fighting to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and bring clean energy jobs and industries to our state.

Norm voted for the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act which would prevent big financial companies and banks from engaging in the kinds of risky deals that led to the financial collapse and will make sure we don’t ever have to bail them out again.

Thr re-electIon of Congressman Norm Dicks is vital to each of us.
