ELECTION: Where’s fairness for Richardson?

Letter by Joan M. Hynek, Sumner on Aug. 13, 2010 at 12:52 pm with No Comments »

Concerning two articles in the TNT about Matt Richardson’s e-mails (8-11 and 8-12), The News Tribune had this information more than two years ago. A check with the City of Sumner also revealed that Chris Clifford has never filed a public record request for the e-mails he is quoting. This is mudslinging of the worst kind.

Has The News Tribune shown responsible journalism by reviewing every single e-mail for the last four years (which was part of the public request in Sumner) for all of Richardson’s opponents?

As a Sumner City Council member, Richardson is known to listen to our concerns. He helped stop the demolition of historic downtown Sumner and stood up to wealthy developers. He has been steadfastly against the proposed chemical tank farm. I know Richardson will respond to citizens’ concerns as a state senator because this is what he does in Sumner.
