ELECTION: Voters deserve better than Norm Dicks

Here we go again. Democratic Congressman Norm Dicks is associated with fraudulent political activities.

Dicks was the recipient of $101, 200 (from 2002 to 2008) from lobbyist Paul Magliocchetti, who was just indicted on 11 counts of fraud for making illegal campaign contributions. A federal grand jury on Thursday charged the lobbyist with evading federal limits on campaign donations by using straw donors to funnel hundreds of thousands of dollars to members of Congress, especially those with influence over military spending.

Is this the type of person we want representing us? The voters in the 6th Congressional District deserve much better. We can make a fresh start by voting him out this year. Another reason to vote for Jesse Young for Congress.

I have said this about Norm for years!

  2. entrepreneur says:

This is what the election in November is all about: out with old and in with the new. One of Norm’s first votes, if he is unfortunately returned to Congress, will be to vote for Nancy (Drain the Swamp) Pelosi as Speaker of the House. The record clearly shows that when Nancy says “Jump” Norm says “How high?” Because of Norm and the other entrenched, business as usual, politicians America is in debt trillions of dollars. No wonder Congress’ approval rating is at 11%. Now is time to end the 34 year reign of King Norm and put the good of the nation above his much touted “clout”.

  3. Publico says:

Jane is typical of most wingnuts. She finds Rep. Dicks guilty by association when Mr. Paul Magliocchetti is still only charged and not convicted.
It’s called spin and it is nonsense.
If Mr. Paul Magliocchetti is convicted I expect Mr. Dicks will return the contributions he received. That is the way it usually happens and is appropriate.

  4. jandkgibbs says:

It’s time for Norm to go. There is no more pork for Norm to bring. We need a congressman that will cut back on spending. Norm is nothing but a hand puppet for Pelosi. Norm has served us well but it’s time for new blood.

He no longer votes the way his voters want him to vote. Look at his votes on health care and cap and trade. He just followed the herd of the progressives.

    Norm, come home and retire.

  6. I have never voted for dicks.

Jane Milhans is a right wing, bible beating, rush/palin robot. She claims to be a Christian but does not act like one. Shame on you!

  8. jandkgibbs, I looked at the Washington Poll (UofW) on health care taken right before Dick’s vote: 75 percent stated support for health care reform with a public option and 52 percent approved of paying higher taxes to provide universal availability of coverage. So, Dicks wins that argument.

Cap and Trade has not had the intense public debate that health care did, and I could not find a Washington specific poll on that issue. In the US, publicly, 60% approve of the current proposed bill and 37% oppose nationally. With business CEO’s and corporate donations, about 70% oppose cap and trade. So how is Norm supposed to vote – against the people and for corporations? Is that why you are voting Republican, because that is how they always vote – against the best interest of the public and for their corporate masters.

  9. Roncella says:

tuddo, Your strong liberal ideas sure do show on so many issues we discuss here. At least there is no doubt where you stand on any issue.

Being a senior as I am you should be very concerned about the affects cap and trade will have on everyone, especially seniors, in paying their utility bills, gas, groceries, so many everyday necessities. God help us if it ever passes.

Tuddo, don’t fret about Norm losing his seat in Congress. I would very much doubt that anyone can unseat him. He is very powerful, and has many friends in high places in Washington D.C..
