ELECTIONS: Republicans block vital disclosure

Republicans have successfully blocked the vote for the DISCLOSE Act, using the specious argument that it denies us the right of free speech.

Their actions mean that corporations, under names like Citizens United, will have ever louder voices in the election process because money talks. What the Republicans’ agenda means is that citizens will listen to commercials on their television sets and have no certain idea who is bringing them the message.

Everyone has always had free speech; I’m one voter who would like to know who’s talking!
