COUNTY COUNCIL: Iverson has heart and compassion

I have known Todd Iverson personally for several years. He has the core values necessary to be a great leader at the Pierce County Council level. He has proven those core values as a successful parks commissioner.

His wife Suzzette and son Gus are the center of his life and at the center of every decision that he makes. I asked Todd the other day why he was running for the Pierce County Council. His answer was for a better future for Gus. As a woman I knew his answer came from the heart.

Todd has the political knowledge and relationships in Tacoma and Olympia so that when elected he can hit the ground running to improve the family lives of members of this community, not just his own. Todd has great knowledge and experience but most importantly he has a great heart and compassion for the people of Pierce County.

First off, this women does not even live in the district Iverson is running for. Also, who cares who Iverson knows in Tacoma or Olympia – Tacoma is not in the district and olympia is ready to go bankrupt. Heart and compassion are great to have but when you are on split council it takes communication skills and the ability to work with others. Todd Iverson has neither. Plus he is a well paid Longshoreman so I am curious if he wil give up this job for the $9,000 a month county council job if elected. Plus Iverson will never vote against the 20 unions that represent County Employees and when it comes down to saving tax payers dollars verus co-pays and time off for labor unions, Iverson will fail to serve thh tax payers and side with the Unions. Just look at all the unions that have endorsemed his campaign and have written him big checks.

Please, so your gender gives you some special abilities above and beyond. FYI, take a look at the percentage of women who “knew” all about Obama, boy that really turned out well, didn’t it.

  3. I know Todd Iverson too and I know he’s the only one in the race who is actually out talking to voters about his qualifications and listening to their issues.

I can’t figure out why you are afraid of unions and people who work for a living. The current council member from District 7, Terry Lee, is a union member.

A politician will say anything to get elected and how do you really know anyone.

Lets look at state and local government today, it there really anyone that does not have an agenda to pay back those who supported them.

An elected official has a responsibility to represent the views of their constituents without personal feelings.

It is nice he will look after Gus and make sure he has an overpaid longshoreman’s union job, with benefits that make the US congress weep.

It is a shame that people like headedsouth and insidejob find it necessary to abuse letter writers. Why not just go and read something else?

Huh, before reading these comments, I had no idea that the county council was reserved for only those individuals making a certain wage. Maybe if Mr. Iverson was a banker or CEO, it would be ok………….. ? Why the uproar over his job or wages or benefits or bringing his family into it? Thats just low.
