TACOMA: Taxpayers’ money abused

In following the story on Gloria China Fortson (TNT, 7-11), it appears that she has overstepped her bounds as a domestic abuse advocate and misused taxpayers money.

Fortson chose to aid and abet Keisha Jackson in removing her children from the area and paid for a van and a hotel room from taxpayers’ money. I also understand she bailed Jackson out of jail when she was arrested for violating a court order.

There has been no proof that the children’s father abused them or harassed Jackson, to my knowledge. Even so, the use of taxpayers’ monies was certainly not appropriate.

Who is the real victim here? Obviously, the children’s father, who had no knowledge of where his children were. It is noticeable that the daughter stated they were not allowed to call their father. Upon the daughter’s return, however, she moved into her father’s home.

In too many instances, the father in these cases is painted with a brush from other violators who indeed were violent. Each case has merit and must stand alone. Too many times, the mother in the case is taken at her word and the father is punished.

Let’s get the facts straight. Fortson deserves to lose her job. There seems to be no accountability in our public employees these days.
