Re: “DOT boss admits viaduct errors” (TNT, 6-29).
A million-dollar mistake. Here we go again. Another story about public employees making mistakes that will cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars.
In May, I read about how the Washington State Patrol and the Aberdeen Police Department tried to frame a college student for DUI to prevent him from attending an anti-war rally (TNT, 5-6). The payout for this incident was more than $300,000. Just like the offramp debacle, no one is held accountable.
Where are our elected representatives? Why are there no investigations?
Anytime a mistake is made that results in serious financial damage to the public, someone should be fired or jailed or both. Period.
