Re: “DOT boss admits viaduct errors” (TNT, 6-29).

This is truly amazing. This mistake will cost a million dollars by the time it’s corrected. And to make matters worse, the state Department of Transportation and the governor have passed the buck more times than Hasselback in a two-minute drill.

Heads should roll. I can’t believe that people have not lost their jobs because of this clear incompetence and mishandling of nearly $1 million of taxpayer money.

I wonder what would happen if a department manager in a retail store lost the company $860,000. Any state officials who had their hands on this or any agency worker who worked on this should do the right thing and step down now.

I suspect that insurance or a bond of some sort will cover this…..I can’t imagine that not being so. Is it? And if it is, why is it not reported? Wait, I can answer that: It makes for a more bloody story.

Nobody will get fired. If they did, the State would have to fire hundreds each year for incompetence particularly that bunch in the DSHS. On second thoughts, great idea.
