SENATE: Patty Murray doesn’t address debt

Lately I have started receiving a periodic newsletter from Sen. Patty Murray. When talking about her priorities, she says a great deal about what she will do but not once is a specific action mentioned.

Amazingly, none of her priorities include the biggest danger facing the country – the magnitude of the national debt, now in excess of $13 trillion dollars and growing by leaps and bounds.

Among her accomplishments, she lists nothing but what she has spent money on. Nowhere is mentioned savings or fiscal responsibility. Can the country afford her as a senator?

I’ve written my Senators….they answer with a campaign speech thinly disguised as a form letter….

  2. JungleBoy says:

When the foundation of a house is cracking, you don’t spend more money on remodeling the kitchen and bathrooms. First, you take care of the foundation!!

A Senator who brags about his/her ability to bring home the pork is short-sighted and foolish. It’s time for Americans to vote these bums out.

  3. Sumner401 says:

Knowing how republicans are the true big spenders we certainly can’t give the reins of power back to them.
We haven’t repaired the damage they did the last time we made that mistake.

  4. If you are going to cut the deficit spending, you will need to reduce Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid and military spending. I wonder if the old geezers in the Tea Party understand this.

Anyhow, both the Republicans and Democrats know reducing any of these expensive programs probably won’t get you elected.

So the deficit spending will continue under either party. This giant game of chicken will only stop when the world stops buying any more government bonds.

So far it’s all good in the hood. So party on!

  5. Cutting federal spending in a recession is exactly the wrong thing to do. It must be addressed eventually when the economy recovers beyond a certain point and we have not reached that point yet. The deficit hawks will drive us into a double dip recession if we follow their advice.

  6. Roncella says:

Patty, and many of the Liberal/Progressives who post here think the U.S.A. can just go on spending and spending on what ever programs they want. Where and how all of us will ever pay all these bills off is anyones guess.

No Country has ever spent its way out of a Recession or Depression in history.

We have an anti-capitalistic President and Adminstration. They seem bent on destroying as many small businesses and large corportations as they can before November. They have done a good job so far keeping the unemployed out of work, and extending and extending unemployment benifits.

President Obama has given approval for court action against Arizona’s new immigration bill. He will not seal the border until he gets his amnesty bill passed. Once passed he has a huge number of new Democrats to assist him in both congressional seats this November, and Presidential elections in 2012.

  7. Sumner401 says:

Roncella, tell me what your hero bush and your party did to stop illegal immigration.
What were they waiting for before they “sealed the border”?
And how do you do that?

  8. Roncella says:

Sum401, Your finally right about something. Bush was a semi-RINO Republican. He did not have the courage to stop the illegal border crossings by Mexicans and others while President.

You build a wall and have have enough guards stationed along the border to stop the illegals from coming in. This is not brain surgery. I happen to believe we have people who can and would stop the illegal broder crossings if given the right support to do it.

Now we have your hero President Obama who has no intention of closing the border in charge, along with a bunch of liberal democratic opportunist in the Congress who see millions of Mexican votes to help them in November this year and November 2012.

  9. A little leaven leaveneth the whole loaf…eventually. If I gamble on my poison destroying you before your poison destroys me…we both lose. But if one of us gets to be King-of-the-toilet one day sooner than the other, well..I’m sure some cabinet level PR adviser / czar would pat us on the back and serve up some innocuously meaningless number-soup so that at least They might still keep their job. Nothing new under the sun…

  10. Leaven=illegal immigrant La Raza invaders for the definition challenged…

  11. firecap81 says:

“I wonder if the old geezers in the Tea Party understand this”

The old ‘geezers’ probably understand things more than you would know. They paid for the things this country has in gold and blood while you ‘smart young things’ were twidleing your thumbs taking a vacation at college.

  12. Roncella says:

firecpa81, Right On !!! The Tea Party Old Geezers will have their way come November, and then you will hear these same liberal losers complain and complain about everything Conservatives and Independents are accomplishing. “Oh Yea”

  13. How about criminal sentences for the EMPLOYERS of illegal immigrants and no tax incentives given for outsourcing jobs?

Trying to prevent illegals from coming in doesn’t directly attack the problem.

  14. Roncella says:

beerBoy, The U.S. has to stop the flow of illegal mexicans and others First coming across our borders !!

Then and only then can a policy be formed and worked out to handle the illegals already here.
