Last autumn, a story in The News Tribune reported that the Point Ruston developer was going to build a Ruston Way tunnel bypass in the spring of this year. Summer is almost here and still no bypass.
Since that time, the developer has shut down development of his project, yet he has also ripped up the road to install utilities, built a large dock and purchased/refurbished a big old ferry boat and parked it at said dock. But the tunnel and its hazards continue on.
The road is horribly cracked, potted and in ill repair in the area that will be bypassed. As I understand it, the developer is under a contractual obligation to install this bypass. Does anyone know when this guy is going to fulfill his legal obligation and get the road project completed?
