ARIZONA: Is City Council missing a bet?

Back in 2003, the Tacoma City Council passed a resolution calling on President Bush not to invade Iraq. The News Tribune editorial board commented along the line that city councils are never more ridiculous than when they deal with matters beyond their scope. That editorial applies here, too.

If the City Council is so powerful that its resolution actually influences Arizona, it should immediately move on and vote to block leaking oil rigs and nasty carbon emissions.
