SHOOTING: Sheriff’s comments make situation worse

Re: “Fight with father-in-law preceded Gig Harbor slayings” (TNT, 5-18).

It was nice to see that so many online commenters feel as I do that Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor’s venom is out of line. It must be a bit unnerving to know that your boss has no support for any situation and will politically throw you under the bus any chance he gets.

This man has children, and no one knows what happened with him and we may never know. Such venom is unnecessary regardless of what happened. The whole situation is sad no matter what, it is a tragedy pure and simple. He does not need to make it worse with his nasty, hateful comments. Those comments hurt the police community, they hurt the family and they also hurt the community as a whole.

Shame on you Pastor, but are we surprised by this behavior from him?
