DEPUTY: TNT not providing answers

“Searching for answers” is the headline of an article (5-17) about Deputy Allen Myron; but, instead of consulting psychiatrists or others with at least a master’s in social work, criminology or mental health, the article quotes from a sermon.

Massive coverage of a such a sermon or of motorcades when a cop(s) is killed does an injustice to your readers. We need information and ideas. A sermon urging parishioners not to talk to the media or to consult the book of Job is not worthy of front page coverage.

Please get a new front page editor. There are seminaries out there who give their students a well-rounded education. For example, the Chicago Theological Seminary now allows selected students to concurrently earn a seminary degree and a master of social work from the University of Chicago. So there are ministers out there who can help, but Pastor Andy Snodgrass and an apparently uncritical TNT want a coverup.

  1. Amen

  2. lovethemountains says:

The TNT will get answers as they are provided by the investigating authorities. Of course reporters can, and sometimes do, hound survivors and those closely connected to the case for copy but the “answers” are the responsibility of those attempting to bring the case to a close.

TNT is not that bad. However the Gateway Peninsula is the worst! They never cover anything negavtive. You will not even see community stories about the numerous tragedies that happen…especially among the more wealthy community members. There is more that goes on in that pretty Gig Harbor community and the local newspaper only likes to keep it pretty. I think TNT does a much better job. Also, it looks like the Police Department is also protecting the family and are very tight lipped. Maybe that’s not such a bad thing.

  4. The TNT cares not one bit about facts. They have even printed opinion storys with no author. They only care about selling papers, as is fact by the story of “maybe’s” by Adam Lynn about the family who’s dad was killed by criminals who should have never been free.

    If it bleeds it leads……..
