For those with long memories of stories about rodents, a January 25 column detailed the travails of a Spanaway couple living next door to a home that was overrun with rats.
The house had been sold in foreclosure, but the property was a mess – indoors and out. Rusting cars and old pianos out front, head-high piles of trash bags and another car out back. And between the home of Sharon and Richard Collins and that abandoned house?
Rats! Jumping rats! Burrowing rats! And yes, one night, dancing rats!
Well, Sharon and Richard will see the upside of living near rats. They’re about to become television stars.
The ever-so-charming TV show, ‘Buried Alive!’, is interviewing the Collins family and others about the former House of Rats, and next week will film one of its crews – and the former owner – pulling tons of belongings that still fill the house.
Yes, she’s a hoarder. And she insists the house, vacant for months, contain piles and piles of treasure. We’ll all know, soon enough.
Next Wednesday, we’ll have the House of Rats sequel column and detail just what happens when the house is emptied. The rats, by the way, have apparently been dealt with by a professional exterminator, hired by the TV show.
We’d tell you where and when the filming will be, but we’re afraid people would flock to the scene like, well, rats. And we’ve had quite enough of those, thanks.
