Gonzales finishes second at Nationwide Tour opener
Maybe Olympia’s Andres Gonzales wasn’t old enough to reel in the Pacific Rubiales Colombia Championship on Sunday – the first tournament on the 2012 Nationwide Tour schedule.
Skip Kendall rolled in a 25-foot birdie putt on the final hole to win the title over Gonzales and Andrew Svoboda.
Kendall is the third 40-year-old in a row to win this season-opening event, joining Steve Pate and Brendan Pappas.
Gonzales made a run, firing a 3-under-par 68 to finish at 9-under 275.
