This week: John Deere Classic, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Deere Run, Silvis, Ill.
Moore’s fourth-round score: 2-under-par 69.
Position: Moore (13-under 271) tied for 22nd, six strokes behind winner Jordan Spieth (19-under 265), who defeated Zach Johnson and David Hearn in a sudden-death playoff. Gonzales (3-under 139, tied for 72nd) and Stanley (5-over 147, tied for 141st) missed the cut Friday.
Recap: Moore birdied the first two holes Sunday, then endured his first real rough patch of the week – three bogeys in a five-hole stretch at the turn. In fact, he bogeyed the 10th hole (second shot went long and left, took a penalty stroke), a par 5 in which he was 4-under on in the first three rounds. But the Cascade Christian rallied with birdies at No. 11 (8-foot putt), No. 14 (8-footer) and No. 17 (up and down from 30 yards on par 5; made 2-footer).
Next: Moore will tee it up at The British Open starting Thursday at Muirfield in East Lothian, Scotland.
