This week: The Greenbrier Classic, Thursday through Sunday, The Old White TPC, White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.

Gonzales’ first-round score: 1-over-par 71.

Stanley’s first-round score: 7-over 77.

Position: Gonzales is tied for 87th, and Stanley is tied for 153rd – all trailing co-leaders Tommy Gainey and Johnson Wagner.

Recap: All of Gonzales’ action (two bogeys, one birdie) came early. He made a 10-foot birdie putt from the back fringe at the first hole, then made bogey at No. 3 (tee shot at par 3 far left) and No. 6 (approach shot at par 4 way long). After that, he made 12 consecutive pars. … Stanley opened with his worst score since the first week of the season at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions (78). And the round really came unraveled at the third hole – his 12th of the day. He hit his tee shot at the par 3 so far left, it took him the next three shots to reach the green. He ended up with triple bogey to fall to 6-over.

Tee times Friday: Stanley at 4:50 a.m. PDT off the first tee, and Gonzales at 5:40 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee.
