This week: Shell Houston Open, Thursday through Sunday, Redstone Golf Club, Humble, Texas.

World rankings: Stanley is 95th, Kelly is 324th, and Putnam is 336th.

2013 earnings: Stanley has $162,456 (124th on the PGA Tour), Kelly has $32,350 (176th on the PGA Tour) and Putnam has not played in a PGA Tour event this season (although he has made $31,355 in four Tour starts).

Last tournament: Not a lot to gloat about on this current “Florida Swing” from the locals. Stanley had arguably his worst showing of the season by missing the cut at last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational (9-over-par 153). When his ball-striking is off – and it has been on more than a few occasions – the Bellarmine Prep graduate has not shown any signs of finding a putting groove to save strokes (ranks last at 182nd in total putting). Stanley has made the cut at both previous appearances at the Houston Open, but with a best finish of 60th in 2011. … Kelly has made the cut at his past two stops, including the Tampa Bay Championship on March 17 (6-over 290, tied for 63rd). Kelly tied for 47th at this event last season (3-under 285), and really needs to pick up the pace. … And who is playing the best of any professional golfer in Pierce County? It is Putnam, who got into the field this week on a Monday qualifier. He has made all four cuts on the Tour this season, is No. 1 in greens hit in regulation (84.7 percent) and ranks 15th on the money list. His last PGA Tour appearance was in June at the Travelers Championship, missing the cut (4-over 144).

Tee times Thursday: Stanley at 6:10 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee, Putnam at 7:20 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee, and Kelly at 11:30 a.m. PDT off the first tee.
