This week: Tampa Bay Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Innisbrook Resort Copperhead Course, Palm Harbor, Fla.

Kelly’s first-round score: 1-over-par 72.

Moore’s first-round score: 7-over 78.

Position: Kelly is tied for 47th, and Moore is tied for 147th – all trailing leader Shawn Stefani (65).

Recap: On a dreary day better-suited for a big coat and umbrella, the best golfers in the world played under unexpectedly dank conditions in Florida. The results? Scores were collectively poor. Moore posted his worst opening round since the 2009 season when he started with a 79 at the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines. He hit half of the 18 greens in regulation, totaled 36 putts – and recorded an unthinkable three double bogeys, including two on par-5 holes. The real head-scratchers came at No. 14 (three-putt from 4 feet) and No. 9 (three-putt from 9 feet) for double bogeys. … Kelly was a bit steadier (three bogeys, two birdies). He nearly holed out a wedge approach from 135 yards at No. 7 for eagle, and made the 15-inch putt for his final birdie.

Tee times Friday: Moore at 5:30 a.m. PDT off the first tee, and Kelly at 9:30 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee.
