This week: WGC-Cadillac Championship, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Blue Monster at Doral, Miami, Fla.

First-round score: 1-over-par 73.

Position: Moore is tied for 50th, seven strokes behind co-leaders Sergio Garcia, Freddie Jacobson, Graeme McDowell, Bubba Watson and Tiger Woods (66).

Recap: Moore opened up with 12 consecutive pars, bogeyed the 13th hole and then three-putt from 20 feet for a double bogey at No. 14 – including a missed 3-footer for bogey. He did rally with good birdies at the 15th (7-iron approach to 6 feet) and 18th holes (8-iron approach to 9 feet on the hardest hole on the course). He was one of 16 golfers in the 65-man field to post an over-par score Thursday.

Moore’s tee time Friday: 9:48 a.m. PST off the 10th tee.

Puerto Rico Open: Tacoma’s Troy Kelly opened with a 3-under 69, and is tied for 28th. Olympia’s Andres Gonzales had a 4-over 76, and is tied for 120th after the first round.
