Stanley’s first-round score: 5-under-par 67 at Nicklaus.

Kelly’s and Gonzales’ first-round score: 1-over 73 at Palmer.

Position: Stanley is tied for 29th, and Kelly and Gonzales are tied for 135th – all trailing co-leaders Robert Castro, James Hahn and Jason Kokrak (63).

World rankings: Stanley is 80th, Kelly is 251st and Gonzales is 386th.

2013 season earnings: Stanley at $72,312 (41st on the PGA Tour), Gonzales has made no money and this is Kelly’s first tournament of 2013.

Last tournament: Stanley was the only one of the locals to make the cut at last week’s Sony Open (1-under-par 279), tying for 67th. In three seasons, he has now cashed in 11 of 12 “West Coast Swing” tournaments, and really feels he has an advantage

Schools: Central Kitsap/University of Washington.

2012 season: Made 11 of 23 cuts, posted one top-10 finish and totaled $786,832 in season earnings. Was a sudden-death playoff runner-up at the The Greenbrier Classic (16-under-par 264) in July.

Best finish in 2012 at a major: Missed the cut at the British Open (8-over 148).

Crane speeds up, and Nike bulks up its star power in these videos

A couple of cool golf-related videos to glance at – with peripheral local ties.

Oregon graduate Ben Crane played in the Ryan Moore’s BMW Northwest Charity Skins Game in 2008. Notoriously a slow golfer, he posted this video about trying to speed up his life.

As we all know, Gig Harbor’s Kyle Stanley signed with Nike after Jan. 1 of this year to a lucrative multi-year contract. And a couple of the stars in his Nike camp – Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy – made this new commercial.

Stanley’s fourth-round score: 3-over-par 73.

Position: Stanley (1-under 279) is tied for 67th, 23 strokes winner Russell Henley (24-under 256). Moore and Gonzales missed the cut Friday.

Recap: Stanley was even-par on his round through 14 holes, but finished with three consecutive bogeys at No. 6 (hit drive in right fairway bunker), No. 7 (tee shot at par 3 went in right greenside bunker) and No. 8 (approach shot went in right greenside bunker).
