Ryan and Nichole Moore welcome newborn son – healthy and fine

Got an inkling something was going on with Puyallup’s PGA Tour golfer Ryan Moore. And caught Mike and Roxane Moore – Ryan’s parents – in the terminal at Sea-Tac Airport this morning preparing to take a flight to Las Vegas.

Well, it came to fruition at about 2:45 p.m. today – a son was born to Ryan and Nichole Moore, their first child, a couple weeks before the Halloween due date.

Here is the text I got from Mike Moore:

“Baby boy Moore born to Ryan and Nickie at 2:45 p.m. 18.5″ (long), 6 lbs, 8 oz. Baby and mom

Troy Kelly at McGladrey Classic, 2nd Rd.

This week: McGladrey Classic, Thursday through Sunday, Seaside Course, Sea Island, Ga.

Second-round score: 3-over-par 73.

Position: Kelly (3-over 143) tied for 109th, and missed the cut by four strokes. Arjun Atwal (10-under 130) is the leader.

Recap: It did not start well – Kelly striped his opening drive into a fairway bunker and made bogey – and the day never really got any better as the Central Kitsap graduate missed his second consecutive cut. After he missed a couple of short par-saving putts at No. 13 (6-footer) and No. 14 (9-footer), it was clear his week was finished.

Troy Kelly at McGladrey Classic, 1st Rd.

This week: McGladrey Classic, Thursday through Sunday, Seaside Course, Sea Island, Ga.

First-round score: Even-par 70.

Position: Kelly is tied for 87th, eight strokes behind co-leaders Bud Cauley and Marco Dawson (62).

Recap: Not much happening for Kelly late in the PGA Tour season. He converted a lot of up-and-downs for pars, but only made two birdies (Nos. 1, 15). He was at 1-under after he birdied the first hole (20-foot putt) – his 10th – but he gave the stroke back with a bogey at the fourth hole (drive went into right-side creek).

Tee time Friday: 5:35 a.m. PDT

Troy Kelly at McGladrey Classic, 1st Rd.

This week: McGladrey Classic, Thursday through Sunday, Seaside Course, Sea Island, Ga.

World ranking: 204th.

2012 earnings: $786,832 (109th on the PGA Tour).

Last tournament: Kelly saw his made-cut streak of four tournaments end at last week’s Frys.com Open (5-over-par 147). In fact, his over-par rounds of 73 and 74 were the first tournament of no rounds of par or better since The British Open in July (72, 76). Needless to say, the Central Kitsap product would certainly like to eclipse the $1 million mark this season, and has two more events to do so.

Tee time Thursday: 10:05 a.m.

Recap: It took him 79 PGA Tour tournaments since his first victory at the 2009 Wyndham Championship until now for Moore to win again. But after trailing de Jonge briefly on the front nine Sunday, the Cascade Christian and UNLV product took

Recap: Today, the Cascade Christian product could put the finishing touches on a magnificent stretch of golf with his second PGA Tour victory. And you’d think he’d have a couple advantages over Blixt and de Jonge – one being that he knows this course as well as anybody after playing at

Ryan Moore, Kyle Stanley, Troy Kelly at JT Shriners, 1st Rd.

This week: Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas

Moore’s first-round score: 10-under-par 61.

Kelly’s first-round score: 3-under 68.

Stanley’s first-round score: Withdrew before round began.

Position: Moore is the leader, and Kelly is tied for 29th.

Recap: The sizzling golf continues for Moore, who tied a career-low round shot earlier in the season in the second round of the season-opening Humana Challenge (the 61 is still the low round on the PGA Tour, too). An opening-nine was highlighted by an eagle-2 at the 15th hole (drove the green, sank an 11-foot putt).
