This week: WGC-HSBC Champions, Thursday through Sunday, Mission Hills Golf Club, Olazabal, Guangdong, China

World ranking: 64th.

2012 earnings: $2.35 million (32nd on the PGA Tour).

Last tournament: His last official PGA Tour start came in the FedEx Cup playoffs – a tied-for-34th showing at the BMW Championship in early September. But he did travel overseas for last week’s CIMB Classic in Malaysia (tied for 41st at 5-under-par 279), which is a non-sanctioned tournament many Americans played in, won by Nick Watney. So what is left for Stanley, who has had a banner second season? At one point after his victory in Phoenix at the Waste Management Open, he moved up as high as 47th in the world rankings. He has slipped 17 spots since then – and would like to see that closer to the top 50 at the early part of 2013 so he can get into the majors.

Tee time Thursday: 6:10 p.m. PDT Wednesday with Richie Ramsay and Robert Rock.
