This week: Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas
Moore’s third-round score: 6-under-par 65.
Kelly’s third-round score: 1-under 70.
Position: Moore (19-under 194) is a co-leader with Jonas Blixt (66) and Brendon de Jonge (66). Kelly (5-under 208) is tied for 48th.
Recap: Today, the Cascade Christian product could put the finishing touches on a magnificent stretch of golf with his second PGA Tour victory. And you’d think he’d have a couple advantages over Blixt and de Jonge – one being that he knows this course as well as anybody after playing at UNLV; and two, he has won on the PGA Tour, and his playing partners have not. Moore’s bogey-free round Saturday really took off on the back nine with birdies at Nos. 11, 13, 15 and 16. He birdied the 11th hole for a third consecutive day (5-foot putt), then capped the stretch by laying up on the par-5 16th from 95 yards, and rolling in an 8-footer. … It was an up-and-down round for Kelly. But he did make his second eagle of the tournament at No. 13, a par 5 (holed a 60-foot chip from in front of the green).
Tee times Sunday: Kelly at 10:10 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee, and Moore at 11 a.m. PDT off the first tee.
