For a cause, on a good golf course, Gonzales and friends raise money for charity

There is living proof that Olympia golfer Andres Gonzales is popular on two professional tours.

The Capital High and UNLV product held his second annual Andres Gonzales Charity Tournament on Monday to raise money for pancreatic cancer awareness and local youth golf programs.

Including Gonzales, 10 Web.com Tour professionals (and PGA Tour rookie Richard Lee) played in the event at Tacoma Country and Golf Club, which was expected to bring in anywhere from $50,000 to $75,000.

Gonzales looking for amateurs to fill out Sept. 17 charity tournament

If all you’ve ever wanted is to play like a professional golfer – it might be better just playing with one first.

Olympia’s Andres Gonzales is offering that chance, for a sizable fee going to a good cause.

Gonzales, a Web.com member who has already clinched his PGA Tour card for 2013, has set Sept. 17 as the date for the second Andres Gonzales Charity Golf Tournament at Tacoma Country and Golf Club in Lakewood.
