This week: The Tour Championship, Thursday through Sunday, East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta, Ga.

Fourth-round score: Even-par 70.

Position: Moore (6-under 274) tied for third, four strokes behind winner – and FedEx Cup champion – Brandt Snedeker (270).

Recap: Just a splendid run through the four-tournament playoffs for Moore, who started in 64th – and finished in 11th place in the points (1,105 points), earning a $300,000 bonus. Moore was one of three golfers in the field to shoot par or better in each round on a difficult East Lake GC layout (Snedeker, Bubba Watson are the others). Yet, a part of this Sunday will be hard to swallow. He birdied the 14th (12-foot putt) and 15th holes (up and down out of greenside bunker on par 5) to grab a share of the lead with Snedeker at 9-under. Moore was in another sand trap at No. 16, a difficult par 4, and hit 18 feet short of the hole. He left the par-saving attempt just short of the lip, and that started a run of three consecutive bogeys to end the round.

Quotable: “I’ve been feeling good about my game really for the last few weeks. Started putting the ball a lot better the last few weeks. I was excited to kind of get in the mix, and at least make it a little interesting there for a while.

“You know, it just came down to the last three holes. They’re tough golf holes, and I didn’t hit good shots on them. So they’ll sneak up on you really quick if you don’t put them in the right spots, and unfortunately, that’s what got me.” – Moore

Next for Moore: Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open starting Oct. 4 at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas.
