This week: Deutsche Bank Championship, Friday through Monday, TPC Boston, Norton, Mass.
Moore’s first-round score: 7-under-par 64.
Stanley’s first-round score: 1-under 70.
Position: Moore is tied for third, and Stanley is tied for 46th – all trailing leader Seung-Yul Noh (62).
Recap: Moore tied his best scoring round of 2011 – and he did it playing with Noh, the tournament leader. The Cascade Christian graduate did most of his birdie making early – six of them en route to a front-nine 30. What set it all up was crisp iron play, especially from the fairways. His longest birdie putt on the front nine was 11 feet. … Stanley was 1-over through six holes, before making birdie at No. 16 (9-iron to 8 feet). He then made six consecutive pars before canning a 17-footer for his final birdie at the fifth hole.
Tee times Saturday: Moore at 4:52 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee, and Stanley at 5:28 a.m. PDT off the first tee.
