This week: The Barclays, Thursday through Sunday, Bethpage Black, Farmingdale, N.Y.

Moore’s third-round score: 1-under-par 70.

Kelly’s third-round score: 3-over 74.

Position: Moore (5-under 208) is tied for sixth, and Kelly (1-over 214) is tied for 43rd – all trailing leader Sergio Garcia (10-under 203). Stanley (2-over 144) missed the cut Friday.

Recap: Because Garcia has not proven to be bullet-proof with the lead, Moore is certainly right in the thick of contention in the first tournament of the FedEx Cup playoffs. And he is playing well – he is one of only golfers in the field to post under-par rounds all three days. After three consecutive birdies (Nos. 13-15) he was at 6-under for the tournament. But at No. 16, he parked an approach shot in the greenside bunker, and made a late bogey. … It was a rough ending for Kelly, who made three bogeys over his final five holes. The lowlight was a three-putt from 45 feet at No. 16, including a par-saver from 4 feet.

Tee times Sunday: Kelly at 6:50 a.m. PDT with Graham DeLaet, and Moore at 10:10 a.m. PDT with Greg Chalmers.
