Tacoma’s Todd Erwin has done just about everything in golf – except coach his own program.

That changed Thursday when the University of Puget Sound announced it hired the Bellarmine Prep graduate as its director of golf for the men’s and women’s programs at the NCAA Division III level.

“It’s what I do – promote golf and teach golf,” Erwin said.

Erwin will continue to work as the director of instruction at the Tacoma Firs Golf Center in south Tacoma.

“Todd is one of the most trusted instructors in the area, especially for young adults, so we are delighted he will be joining our program,” UPS athletic director Amy Hackett said.

Erwin played professionally for more than two decades, capturing four Washington Open Invitational titles, and playing in a pair of U.S. Opens (1990, 1993).
