This week: RBC Canadian Open, Thursday through Sunday, Hamilton Golf and Country Club, Ancaster, Ontario.

Second-round score: 2-under-par 68.

Position: Stanley (1-under 139) is tied for 66th, 10 strokes behind co-leaders William McGirt and Scott Piercy (11-under 129).

Recap: The outlook appeared bleak for Stanley after seven holes – he was 1-over on the round, 2-over for the tournament. But he made birdies at the ninth, 12th and finally the 17th holes. His last birdie came on the par 5 where he was just left of the green in two shots, chipped close and sank the 31/2-foot putt. The finishing hole played as the toughest one for the week, but he easily reached the par 4, and two-putted from 15 feet to secure his fifth made cut in a row, which is a season-best.

Tee time Saturday: 9:10 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee.
