This week: Travelers Championship, Thursday through Sunday, TPC River Highlands, Cromwell, Conn.
Moore’s third-round score: 1-under-par 69.
Stanley’s third-round score: Even-par 70.
Position: Stanley (3-under 207) is tied for 44th, and Moore (2-under 208) is tied for 57th – all trailing co-leaders Brian Davis and Roland Thatcher (198). Kelly (1-over 141) and Putnam (4-over 144) missed the cut.
Recap: The good news regarding Stanley – he has now recorded three consecutive rounds of par or better for the first time since won at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in February (69-66-69-65). But scoring was the easiest of the three days early Saturday, and neither local closed well after strong stretches. After Stanley birdied the 12th, 13th and 14th holes to get to 2-under on his day, he gave it right back – with bogeys at No. 15 (three-putt from 35 feet) and No. 16 (tee shot at par 3 over the green). … Moore started off the 10th tee, and was hot early with birdies at Nos. 12, 14 and 15 during a bogey-free opening nine holes. But he made bogey at the first (approach shot left of the green) and second holes (three-putt from 75 feet).
Tee times Sunday: Moore at 6:06 a.m. PDT, and Stanley at 7:30 a.m. PDT. Both go off the first tee.
