82nd TACOMA CITY AMATEUR

When: Sunday, final round

Where: Fircrest Golf Club (6,685 yards, par 71)

Atop the leaderboard: Casey Adams, Lacey (4-under 140); Tyler Salsbury, Enumclaw (142); Kyle Schrader, Tumwater (144); James Feutz, Lakewood (144); Ben Nelson, Puyallup (145).

Skinny: None of the final-group golfers – Adams, Salsbury and Feutz – have ever won this tournament. Adams is the only player in the field to shoot a round in the 60s – a 69 in the first round at Whispering Firs Golf Course. … Defending champion Jarred Bossio, a Capital High graduate who just finished up at the University of Idaho, did not defend this year, opting instead to play at the Southwestern Amateur (tied for 19th finish) at Dove Mountain outside Tucson, Ariz. … Bonney Lake’s Sean Packer, the 2004 and 2010 Tacoma City Am winner, is tied for seventh heading into Sunday, but is questionable to play because of a back injury. … Back-nine updates today will be provided on Twitter at #ManyHatsMilles.

Tee times: First group goes off at 10 a.m., with the leaders teeing off at 11:30 a.m.
