This week: Travelers Championship, Thursday through Sunday, TPC River Highlands, Cromwell, Conn.
Kelly’s second-round score: 4-under-par 66.
Stanley’s second-round score: 3-under 67.
Moore’s second-round score: 3-under 67.
Putnam’s second-round score: 1-under through one hole.
Position: Stnaley (3-under 137) is tied for 26th, Moore (1-under 139) is tied for 50th, Kelly (1-over 141) is tied for 87th and Putnam (7-over) is tied for 139th – all trailing leader Fredrik Jacobson (131).
Recap: The rainy weather hit in the afternoon, suspending play twice. By then, Stanley, Moore and Kelly were already finished. Slowly, Stanley appears to be pulling out of his extended funk. He eagled the 13th by hitting his 3-iron approach from 235 yards to within 5 feet, and sank the putt. … Moore’s showing was a stark contrast to his up-and-down Thursday. He made four birdies in the first six holes Friday, then made par at 10 consecutive holes before suffering a late bogey. … Unless the cut-line moves to 1-over, Kelly’s valiant effort might be for naught. He had looks at birdie over his final three holes, including two from 18 feet or shorter to get inside the cut-line – but missed. … Putnam birdied the first hole by making an 8-foot putt.
Tee times Saturday: The second round is set to resume at 4 a.m. PDT.
