This week: Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, Thursday through Sunday, Colonial Country Club, Fort Worth, Texas.

Moore’s first-round score: 3-under-par 67.

Stanley’s first-round score: 2-over 72.

Position: Moore is tied for 10th, and Stanley is tied for 71st – all trailing leader Zach Johnson (64).

Recap: Good starts are becoming the norm as summer hits – it was Moore’s sixth consecutive first round of par or better. And there was some intrigue heading into the first two days since he was grouped with volcanic-tempered John Daly. The bigger issue when the golfers woke up was a stiff Texas wind. “It was windy when I woke up at 5 o’clock this morning,” Moore said. He passed with flying colors with a bogey-free round, and scored his final birdie on the course’s toughest hole – the 475-yard, par-4 fifth – when he knocked his 4-iron approach with 21/2 feet. … At one point, Stanley recovered from a 3-over start to get it back to even-par after back-to-back birdies at Nos. 1 and 2. But he was short on his approach shot at the third hole, and made bogey. And then he went over the green at No. 9, and missed a 7-foot putt for par.

Tee times Friday: Stanley at 5:43 a.m. PDT off the first tee, and Moore at 10:07 a.m. PDT off the first tee.
