If it were U.S. Open qualifying, their scores would have been good enough.
But Puyallup’s Ryan Moore and University Place’s Michael Putnam just missed out on earning spots at the British Open on Monday.
Moore finished 36 holes at 8-under-par 132, tying for 10th, and Putnam was at 7-under 133, tying for 15th at Gleneagles Country Club in Texas.
Eight spots were up for grabs. Harris English was the medalist at 123, including a first-round 60.
