This week: HP Byron Nelson Championship, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Four Seasons Resort, Irving, Texas.

Gonzales’ second-round score: 2-over-par 72.

Putnam’s second round score: 7-over 77.

Kelly’s second-round score: 8-over 78.

Position: Gonzales (2-under 138) is tied for 20th, five strokes behind leader Jason Dufner (66), who is at 7-under 133. Putnam (6-over 146) and Kelly (7-over 147) missed the cut.

Recap: With four bogeys in 10 holes, Gonzales was reeling. And really what salvaged his day was an up-and-down in front of the seventh green for birdie. His pitch shot from 30 yards stopped below the hole, and he made the 13-foot putt. … The afternoon played much tougher for Putnam and Kelly. And Putnam was still in line to make the cut coming to the par-3 third hole where he landed his tee shot into a greenside bunker, and blasted out to 31/2 feet from the hole. But he ran his putt by, and missed another one of the same length – and walked off with double bogey. … Kelly made six bogeys, a triple bogey and somewhere in the middle of all that, eagled the seventh hole for the second consecutive day by making a 26-foot putt.

Gonzales’ tee time Saturday: 8:25 a.m. PDT off the first tee.

Next for Kelly, Putnam: FedEx St. Jude Classic starting June 7 at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn.
