This week: Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Louisiana, Avondale, La.

Kelly’s second-round score: Even-par 72.

Putnam’s second-round score: 1-over 73.

Position: Kelly (3-under 141) is tied for 51st – nine strokes behind leader Jason Dufner (132). Putnam (1-under 143) missed the cut by one shot.

Recap: Kelly was in good shape midway through his second round with five birdies through nine holes – and 5-under for the tournament. Then he got a little wild off the tee, hitting drives right at the first and sixth holes that led to bogeys, and he pulled his par-3 tee shot far left at No. 3, leading to another bogey. He did get up and down from in front of the seventh green for a final birdie to give himself breathing room. … Putnam nearly aced the long par-3 14th hole that led to a tap-in birdie that had him in good shape to make the cut. But on the next hole, he three-putted from 45 feet for a bogey, marking back-to-back missed cuts to start the season.

Kelly’s tee time Saturday: 8:10 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee.

Next for Putnam: HP Byron Nelson Championship starting May 17 at TPC Four Seasons Resort in Irving, Texas.
