This week: Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Louisiana, Avondale, La.

World rankings: Kelly is 386th, and Putnam is 439th.

2012 earnings: Kelly has $54,718 (193rd on the PGA Tour), and Putnam has not cashed in a tournament.

Last tournament: Both locals missed the cut at last week’s Valero Texas Open – Kelly at 11-over 155 and Putnam at 12-over 156. Kelly returned on Saturday morning with a chance to make the cut – and had bogeys or worse on his final three holes to finish up an 80. He missed the cut at the New Orleans stop in 2009 (3-over 147) in his only other appearance. … Is the rust now off for Putnam? After three warm-up Nationwide Tour events, he debuted after an eight-month layoff (wrist) last week – and made a total of 19 bogeys in two rounds. Granted, it was on a very difficult layout. Expect Putnam, who was initially an alternate to get in this week, to fare much better.

Tee times Thursday: Putnam at 11:30 a.m. PDT off the first tee, and Kelly at 11:40 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee.
