The parties, including PGA Tour golfer Ryan Moore, figured it would take a while for the public to catch on to the RMG Club – a new course management company which now operates The Classic, McCormick Woods and Oakbrook.
Early signs have been surprisingly quick-latching and favorable.
As of Tuesday, Mike Moore, the CEO of RMG Club, said 156 memberships have been sold. Most of them are all-access to the three courses.
“I think it was a good surprise,” Mike Moore said. “We thought since folks traveled for holidays, it would take most of January to get 100. To get that by the third or fourth day of January, it is shocking. We are really pleased.”
Ninety to 100 of those memberships, Moore estimated, were sold to former members of Oakbrook Golf and Country Club when it was a private club.
In related news, RMG Club has hired Dusty Brett to remain as the assistant professiona at Oakbrook. Also, the course is open to the public – $35 for weekdays, and $45 for weekends.
Within the next couple weeks, the RMG Club Website (click here) will be able to accommodate membership requests online.
