Gig Harbor’s Kyle Stanley, who had one of the best rookie campaigns on the PGA Tour this season, shot an even-par 72 on Thursday in the first round of the Australian Open.

Stanley birdied two of his first three holes at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney, but struggled on the par-3 holes, including one on the finishing 18th.

The Bellarmine Prep graduate sits tied for 58th, seven strokes behind leader Jarrod Lyle. For leaderboard information, click here.
