This week: PGA Tour’s AT&T National, Thursday through Sunday, Aronimink Golf Club, Newton Park, Pa.
Stanley’s second-round score: 1-under-par 69.
Moore’s and Putnam’s second-round score: Even-par 70.
Position: Stanley (4-under 136) is tied for sixth, and Moore and Putnam (2-over 142) are tied for 50th – all trailing leader K.J. Choi (133).
Recap: At the midway point, on a very challenging driving course, Stanley is certainly in the thick of things. And again, the Bellarmine Prep graduate made a rally on his final nine holes with three birdies – at the third (6-foot putt), fifth (17-footer) and ninth holes (13-footer). The last time he registered back-to-back rounds in the 60s was the Honda Classic in early March (68-66). … Not much going on for Moore, who has two birdies through two rounds – and has bogeyed the same par-5 16th both days (flew greenside bunker shot over green in second round). … Putnam started 2 over through six holes on his round, but was sparked by a near-holeout on the 18th hole (9-iron from 148 yards) that led to his first birdie.
Tee times Saturday: Putnam at 6:05 a.m. PDT with Bill Lunde; Moore at 6:41 a.m. PDT with Justin Rose; and Stanley at 10:05 a.m. PDT with Rickie Fowler.
