This week: PGA Tour’s AT&T National, Thursday through Sunday, Aronimink Golf Club, Newton Park, Pa.
Stanley’s first-round score: 3-under-par 67.
Moore’s and Putnam’s first-round scores: 2-over 72.
Position: Stanley is tied for third, and Moore and Putnam are tied for 62nd – all behind co-leaders Hunter Haas and Adam Scott (66).
Recap: Stanley had gone 12 tournaments without opening with a round in the 60s – until Thursday. And after a double bogey at the eighth hole, the Bellarmine Prep product reeled off four back-nine birdies – starting with a 30-foot putt at the 10th hole. His last first round in the 60s was the Honda Classic (68) in early March. … Moore birdied the 11th hole – his second hole – on a 28-foot putt. And that was his only one as he bogeyed the 12th, 16th and fourth holes. … Putnam, a late addition to the field Wednesday when Lucas Glover withdrew, had his issues in the right greenside rough at the 14th hole. After his tee shot, it took him two more shots to get his ball on the green, leading to a double bogey.
Tee times Friday: Moore at 5:26 a.m. PDT off the first tee; Putnam at 10:17 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee; and Stanley at 10:39 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee.
