This week: PGA Tour’s HP Byron Nelson Championship, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Four Seasons Resort, Irving, Texas.

Stanley’s third-round score: 3-over-par 73.

Putnam’s third-round score: 5-over 75.

Position: Stanley (3-over 213) is tied for 30th, and Putnam (5-over 215) is tied for 49th – all trailing leader Ryan Palmer (5-under 205). Gonzales missed the cut Friday.

Recap: In one word – brutal. Of the 74 golfers, only eight posts under-par rounds. And if either local can make a run Sunday before the leaders get too far into their round, they could make a nice paycheck. Stanley had one bad hole – the 14th – where he dumped his approach shot into the pond, and left with a triple bogey. … It was a steady stream of pars, mixed it with a short run of bogeys for Putnam, who did not make a single birdie Saturday.

Tee times Sunday: Putnam at 6:57 a.m. PDT off the first tee with Robert Gamez, and Stanley at 7:42 a.m. PDT off the first tee with Jerry Kelly.
