This week: PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Louisiana, Avondale, La.

Stanley’s first-round score: 1-over-par 73.

Putnam’s first-round score: 3-over 75.

Gonzales’ first-round score: 7-over 79.

Position: Stanley is tied for 74th, Putnam is in a logjam at 112th and Gonzales is tied for 149th – all trailing co-leaders Matt Jones and Bubba Watson (66).

Recap: Another tournament, another round of slow starts by the locals. Stanley has consecutive bogeys at the second, third and fourth holes – all set up by tee shots that missed left. But he did hole out a 15-yard pitch shot on the par-5 seventh for eagle to get to 1-over. … Around-the-green mishaps led to a triple bogey at No. 4 and a double bogey at No. 17 for Putnam. … Gonzales hit just seven of 14 fairways, leading to six bogeys and a double bogey.

Tee times Friday: Putnam at 6:40 a.m. PDT off the 10th tee, Goznales at 11:20 a.m. PDT off the first tee and Stanley at 11:40 a.m. PDT off the first tee.
