This week: PGA Tour’s The Heritage. Thursday through Sunday, Harbour Links Golf Links, Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Putnam’s second-round score: 2-over-par 73.

Stanley’s second-round score: 2-over 73.

Position: Putnam (3-over 145) and Stanley (5-over 147) missed the cut. England’s Luke Donald is the leader at 10-under 132.

Recap: Just like at last week’s Valero Texas Open, both these Pierce County products missed the cut. For Putnam, he not only did not make any birdies Friday, his only attempt putting from 10 feet and in came on the finishing hole (9 feet, 8 inches). He made 16 pars, many of which were scrambling up-and-downs. … Stanley had to return to the course at 7:45 a.m. local time to finish up his first round (18th-hole bogey led to 75), and he immediately teed off his second round (four birdies, six bogeys). Two of his birdies came on his first three holes (Nos. 10, 12) on 3-footers.

Next: Putnam, Stanley and Olympia’s Andres Gonzales are in the field for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans starting Thursday at TPC Louisiana.
