This week: PGA Tour’s Transitions Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Innisbrook Golf Course on the Salamander Golf and Spa Resort, Tampa Bay, Fla.
Moore’s second-round score: 2-under-par 69.
Stanley’s second-round score: 1-over 72.
Position: Moore (6-under 136) is tied for 11th, three strokes behind co-leaders Chris Couch and Garret Willis (133). Stanley (2-over 144) missed the cut by three strokes.
Recap: Two crisp iron approach shots led to tap-in birdies (Nos. 7, 14), and then the former All-American from UNLV rolled in a 25-foot putt on the 16th hole to go to 3-under, and easily in the top 10 for the tournament. But on the finishing hole – the 18th – his 7-foot par-saver slid by, and he ended with a bogey. … Too many bogeys (nine) led to Stanley’s first missed cut of the season, including three in a row Friday (Nos. 4-6) that put the Bellarmine Prep graduate at 2-over on the day.
Moore’s tee time Saturday: 9:30 a.m. PDT off the first tee with Scott Stallings.
Next for Stanley: Arnold Palmer Invitational starting Thursday at Bay Hill Club and Lodge, Orlando, Fla.
