This week: PGA Tour’s Mayakoba Golf Classic at Riviera Maya-Cancun, Thursday through Sunday, El Camaleon Golf Club, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

Stanley’s fourth-round score: 2-under-par 69.

Gonzales’ fourth-round score: 7-over 78.

Position: Stanley (9-under 275) tied for 13th, and Gonzales (1-under 283) tied for 58th behind winner Johnson Wagner (267), who defeated Spencer Levin in a playoff.

Recap: The Bellarmine Prep product and All-American from Clemson recorded his best finish on the PGA tour, and eclipsed the $100,000 mark for season earnings in the process. Only an untimely double bogey on the front nine prevented Stanley from getting his first top-10 finish. … So what happened to Gonzales, the Capital High product? Five bogeys and a double bogey sent him freefalling 37 spots down the leaderboard – the worst drop Sunday.

Next: Stanley and Tacoma’s Michael Putnam will play in next week’s Honda Classic starting Thursday at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
