This week: PGA Tour’s Mayakoba Golf Classic at Riviera Maya-Cancun, Thursday through Sunday, El Camaleon Golf Club, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

World rankings: Stanley is 383rd; Gonzales is 869th

2011 earnings: Stanley has $73,092 (109th on the PGA Tour). Gonzales has yet to make a cut.

Last tournament: Stanley has yet to finish a tournament over-par, or lower than 68th. And he’s 4-for-4 on cuts made, including a tied-for-48th finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am (1-under-par 285) on Feb. 13. And with a good showing this week, Stanley will likely grab higher standing after the tour’s first rookie reshuffle Monday. … In these early events, Gonzales has been forced to play the waiting game to get into the field. His last event was also at Pebble Beach (missed cut at even-par 214) two weeks ago. In both tournaments, he’s opened with 77s – and then shot rounds in the 60s.

Tee times Thursday: Gonzales at 5:40 a.m. PST off the first tee; and Stanley at 10:05 a.m. PST off the 10th tee.
