In his off-week, Puyallup’s Ryan Moore spent time filming a few segments for The Golf Channel.

At the end of it, a producer approached the PGA Tour golfer from Cascade Christian and UNLV and had one final request.

Care for the world to hear what you say during one full round at the Waste Management Phoenix Open?

Guaranteed a prime-time spot for the first round Thursday at TPC Scottsdale – a layout Moore seems to shine on annually – he agreed to have a microphone attached to him to record each and every one of the words – or sounds – muttering during his first 18 holes of play.

“He thought about it. We thought about it and talked about the pros and cons,” said Mike Moore, Ryan’s father and founder of Moore Sports Management.

“We didn’t see any real problems. Ryan is not one prone to profane outbursts – he’s pretty calm. What he does is self-depricating stuff – ‘Oh, Ryan, why did you just do that?’

“It’s just a chance for … Ryan, who marches to the beat of a different drummer, and for the companies he enjoys the relationships with to enjoy the exposure.”

The microphone will be attached to one of the golfer’s sweater vests and run by wire to pack also connected to his clothing, Mike Moore explained.
